In 1999, François Paul JOURNE launched his brand F.P JOURNE - Invecit and Fecit, presenting his first model, the Tourbillon Souverain.At the time, this Tourbillon was considered the most precise watch on the market.

Several years laters, he evolved his range with The Tourbillon Souverain which had a remontoire and dead beat seconds. The dead beat seconds or “seconde morte”, means that the second hand remains motionless (“dead”) for as long as the second has not actually elapsed. The hand thus indicates the second only after it has actually past. In other words, the hand is jumping from second to second.

The remontoire, or Constant Force device, gives the Tourbillon the same energy for 42 hours, so that the frequency of the balance is isochronous.

The platinum 40 mm case, is equipped with a caliber 1403 in 18K gold that can be admired through a transparent sapphire crystal caseback.

Among his many accomplishments, Mr JOURNE won the Gaïa Prize, which honors women and men whose careers are dedicated to the measurement of time, as well as the Knight of Arts and Letters. He was a 5 time winner of the Grand Prix of Horlogerie of Geneva and also won 3 Goldens Hands. In addition, he was awarded the "Hommage au Talent" prize on March 30, 2017, in Geneva. The watch was voted "Watch of the Year" in Japan and was awarded the Laurent JALOU Special Award in 2004.

The model presented for sale with its platinum bracelet, is delivered "full set", with its certificate of origin, box and 4 crocodile watch straps with deployment buckle. Only a few examples of this watch with a platinum case and bracelet exist. This model initially retailed for 222,700 euros. It is very rare to find this on the secondhand market, especially at the proposed price.
