The rarities that make a mythical watch :

The lacquered porcelain dial, manufactured by Singer in La Chaux-de-Fonds, was finally abandoned in 1989 after a little more than a year of production because it was too complicated to produce for the manufacture.

With a milky white and giving a 3D aspect, it is easily recognizable compared to the classic white painted dials.

It is also "floating", that is to say that ROLEX skipped a line before writing COSMOGRAPH between the fourth and fifth row.

This dial is only possible around 1988 on the first generations of automatic movement Zenith. The Zenith movement "El primero 400" witch replaces the Daytona manual winding movements manufactured from 1963 to 1988.

This movement will equip all Daytona manufactured from 1988 until the arrival of the Rolex 4130 caliber in 2000, which is still on the current models.

The inscription T SWISS MADE T is tighter than the later dials.

The type 1 bezel is graduated from 50 to 200 units.

Very few models have been sold in 18K yellow gold but even less in steel.

The proposed model is a R8XXXXX series and was manufactured in 1988 and sold in February 1989 in United Kingdom.

It is one of the very first models manufactured by Rolex.

In exceptional condition, the watch will be delivered full set.

This is actually the Daytona Zenith Grail.
