COMEX, Compagnie Maritime d'EXpertise was created in 1962 by Henri Germain DELAUZE.

In the late 1970s, the company commissioned Rolex to produce reliable diver's watches capable of withstanding extreme depths and circumstances.

At that time, the COMEX provided its customers with divers and technicians with all their equipment, including a Rolex.

These Sea-Dweller references were exclusively issued to Comex employees.

Thus, they were not available to the public and were only produced in small quantities and therefore these watches are rare and highly sought after by collectors.

Recognizable by the word "COMEX" on the dial, its serial number and reference engraved on the inside of the caseback and the issue number engraved on the outside of the caseback.

The ref. 16600 is the latest edition of the Comex Sea-Dweller.

The other two are reference 1665 and reference 16660.

The reference 16600, only 200 pieces, was introduced in 1992.

This is a very rare specimen from 2004 as new, never worn with its protective stickers.

It is one of the last Rolex productions for the Comex.

The stainless steel case of this iconic diver's watch measures 40mm in diameter and houses the caliber 3135.

The black dial signed "COMEX" has a tritium index surrounded by white gold indexes.

The sapphire crystal and deep black aluminum inlay give the watch a very modern look.

The Oyster bracelet is with safety clasp.

Comex watches are rare and most Comex watches are Submariners.

Therefore, a Comex Sea-Dweller is extremely rare and collectible.
